Tegucigalpa, Honduras

March 18-24, 2013

Once again this year the mission trip to Honduras was outstanding.   For the glory of God my team worked many hours  together so very well.  They gave it all they had to minister to the precious Honduran people.   I cannot say enough about our dear sister Soyla Radcliff and the rest of our host team.  They really have things together and are true servants of God.  To them I say “thank you”  but truly words cannot express our gratefulness to their dedication and love they showed not only to us but to the Honduran people.

Due to a big storm the majority of us got there a day late.  The two who got there ahead of us ministered at an orphanage for special needs children and at a hospital.   After the rest of us arrived we went to two schools.  The second one had two separate sessions and a special service for the dads which was a surprise to us.  These dads helped build the school.  Father’s Day was on that Tuesday so the teachers and children wanted to give them a special thanks.  That was very touching.

Again, we got to build a house which is always so rewarding.  While building the house children started gathering around so we held a service for them.  God is full of surprises.    A few of us went and handed out tracts, balloons and stickers and prayed for people in the area where the house was being built.

On Saturday we did a combination conference of adults and children.  After worship the children went downstairs and had a great time with Michele Johns and the team while I ministered to the adults upstairs with Soyla translating.  There was a powerful anointing and lives where touched and changed by God’s love.   I must add here that the worship was absolutely glorious.   Tom Rutherford who was part of the team from Buffalo, NY wrote a song and sang it in Spanish creating an atmosphere for an open heaven.  It was powerful.  At the halfway point we fed people a yummy Honduran lunch.

Although this was not on our original schedule, on our last day we got to the “dump”.  There are no words to adequately describe what we saw.  Our team rose early in the morning to prepare food to hand out to the people.  When we arrived the first thing that met us was a huge vulture swooping down in front of our vehicle.  Then we saw the huge mounds of garbage where people, cows, dogs and hundreds of vultures live and eat.  They ran up to us begging for food.  We held a service for them then fed them.   They love to hear the word of God.  I know it comforts them and gives them some hope.

Oh dear ones – time is so short and I am so very grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to reach out to the people of Honduras.    I will be going back next year and I invite you to join me on that trip.  I guarantee you will fall in love with the people of Honduras.   I have enclosed some pictures to tell a little bit about the trip.

Thank you for your prayers.
